NY Outlet Shopping – Frette

‘The Finest Luxury Linens’ is this brand’s tag line. I have been on the hunt for a luxurious bath mat for about a year. There’s something about stepping out of a shower or bath onto a plush mat that brings me such simple joy.

I first found a cheap set of Reversible Bathroom Floor Mats by Alurri on Amazon for $14. Upon opening the package, I knew I got what I paid for. I used one for just over a week before washing it and it came out the dryer looking like I had used this mat for much longer. I was disappointed with my purchase because it was not the quality I wanted.  I realized I couldn’t buy something online, because I needed to physically touch the product to assess its quality.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a Frette Outlet at Woodbury Commons and went in to look at their sheet sets, something I was very curious to touch since I had heard of the brand but never experienced it in person. Yes, I also have a thing for luxurious bed linens…after all, we spend a majority of our life sleeping, or at least trying to! I probably should of known they carried bath linens as well.

I found myself immediately drawn to their back wall of bath linens. There were 2 different styles of mats I struggled to choose between, retailed at $35-$45 each. A quick check online actually showed one of the mats slightly cheaper than the outlets price tag of $10.50-$13.50 (70% off), but shipping was only free if your order exceeded a certain amount which was well above the cost of a bath mat. Ultimately outlet price was still cheaper than online considering the additional shipping cost required. I ended up buying both at the outlet because I decided I would alternate between the two since one would have to be laundered anyway.

Some of life’s simple joys are free, but in this particular case it didn’t cost me a lot at all since this outlet had a good sale costing me less that $25 total (about $10 more than the Amazon set that disappointed)! Now every time I step out of my tub, my toes have the distinct pleasure of squishing into a luxurious Frette bath mat and I relish that feeling…What is one of your simple pleasures?
