I’ve used many bags to carry my jewelry while traveling – from leather jewelry cases to plain Ziploc bags. The struggle to keep things organized and untangled is real! The compartmentalized leather jewelry bags are great but they are bulky and add weight. The Ziploc bags are light and take virtually no space, but things get tangled too easily inside them and it can be hard to find the matching pair to a set of earrings if there are multiple in the bag.
I came across this travel hack online a few months ago and it works great for keeping my earrings organized. All you need are some different sized clothing buttons, which most people may already have laying around their house. Then based on the earring size choose an appropriate button and put the post through the button holes and secure with the backing.
This works very well in keeping the earrings together and easy to fish out of any bag I’ve thrown them into. Check back for my next travel hack post which will be about how to keep your necklaces untangled.
