CES 2020: Keurig for Adults only

“I don’t know how to cook or mix [alcoholic] drinks, so this is perfect for me!” exclaimed a woman standing in front of me at a CES booth. If you love your Keurig, a variety of alcoholic beverages (beer, cider, and cocktails) and want the convenience of popping in a pod to make a drink, consider buying Drinkworks Home Bar by Keurig.

Before I dive into further details, be advised that this is currently available in California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, and Pennsylvania. Residents of Arizona, Washington, Minnesota, Nevada, Maryland and the District of Columbia may pre-order online with delivery slated for later this year.

This device will set you back $299 (retail $399). Each pod, which costs ~$4 each (comes in a tube of 4 pods for $15.99), contains the perfect amount of premium spirits and other all-natural ingredients, such as real juice, to create your drink of choice in a mere 30-60 seconds with the machine adding perfectly carbonated and chilled water (must keep the unit plugged in to ensure water remains chilled). There is a plan to offer non-alcoholic beverages in the future. The size of a drink is based on the pod, with beer being 6.7 ounces and most cocktails at either 4 or 6.7 ounces. Currently, the following pods are available:

I tried the Old Fashioned at CES and enjoyed it very much. I personally prefer to drink my liquor straight and my beer sour, so this isn’t something I’d invest money in. But I wanted to write about it because it is a great idea and maybe one of my readers out there will agree with the woman I encountered at the CES booth who thinks this is perfect. If you are that person, let me know if you plan to buy it!
