Did you know toggling between tabs, windows, and applications can make us lose, on average, about 10 seconds every five minutes? Mobile Pixels DUO renamed DEAUX (retail $249) allows those of us who prefer using more than one monitor, to travel and work more efficiently using a secondary monitor with as little additional bulk possible. This 12.5″ (12.8 x 8.6 x 0.48 in.) screen monitor, which is compatible with Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, and Chrome is energy efficiently powered by USB, weighs 1.5 lbs and fits perfectly on my Lenovo X1 Carbon work laptop. Most people who see me use it when I’m working as I travel immediately ask me where I got it because they want to buy one for themselves!
What I liked about this monitor over other brands was the ability to attach it to the lid of the laptop using magnets and slide it out to either the left or the right 270° or rotate it 180° to presentation mode for someone sitting across from me. It also allows me to remove it if I don’t want to bring/use it and does not require a separate stand, which would only be an additional item to pack in my bag when travelling. I could also buy a 2nd monitor and stack them so that one could be on the left and one on the right for a total of 3 monitors.
I backed this product on Kickstarter (KS) for under $200 months before CES and was pleased to see they had a booth so I could speak to the them directly and see the actual unit in person before receiving my order. It was a pleasure speaking to the founder Jack about it as he demonstrated the product to me and explained why the product was delayed for delivery which many backers were extremely frustrated about. I have backed many KS projects and can’t recall any that weren’t at least a few months delayed if not years so was not surprised with their delay.
When I finally received my order a couple months after CES 2019, I immediately knew this was one of my better KS backer decisions. It is much easier working when travelling with this Ggadget and considering how much I travel, it is put to use regularly! Is this something that you want to buy for yourself?
