CES 2020: Revive. Refresh. Rew’air.

I walked by a booth with clothing hung up and various food sauces on a table such as ketchup, soy sauce and syrup. A gentleman at the booth asked if he could demo the product describing it as a tool that gently removes odors and bacteria to refresh clothing and fabrics using a minimal amount of water (99% less than a washing machine), detergent (77% less than a washing machine) and air.

W’air is great for spot treatment on spills and stains so the whole garment doesn’t necessarily need to be washed, he explained. By reducing regular machine washing, clothing can be kept looking newer longer by avoiding wear and tear to the fabric. He asked me to pick something to stain a white piece of fabric and I chose soy sauce. After putting several squirts of soy sauce on the white fabric, he proceeded to rub it into the fabric for a couple seconds. Then he squirted the fabric with the machine and after a few passes the fabric was back to its bright white color without any sign of the soy sauce attack that just occurred moments before.

As someone who works from home full time, I often wear certain outfits for a short period when I go out to run a quick errand or grab some food.  In the back of my head, I always thought it was a waste to throw that outfit in the laundry when I only wore it for an hour or two vs. a full day.  Because of my work lifestyle, I see this as something that may benefit me more than a person who goes to an office and wears their outfits for closer to 10 hours a day or longer before changing at home.  Would you agree?

This product is still in the very early stages of development and is planned to be released as a campaign on Indiegogo. If this is something that is of interest, sign up for their mailing list on the W’air website to be notified when you can be an early backer.
