Hello 2022

It is a new year and there are several things that come to mind when I thought about possible resolutions for the year, but I don’t have a great track record with new year’s resolutions to begin with. Last year I didn’t bother because I didn’t really see the point with my mindset basically in survival mode only. As 2022 kicked off, I couldn’t help but I think it is worth the effort of setting some intentions and striving to achieve them versus not even taking some time to think or not trying for anything at all.

I won’t even bother with the common resolutions such as losing weight by working out regularly, eating healthy, drinking enough water and getting enough sleep or putting more money into savings. I also don’t feel the need to rehash previous years resolutions either. All of these are things I should be working towards regardless. As I’ve set various resolutions in the past few years through this blog and judged myself on how I’ve done with them, I find my thought process of new years resolutions evolving. It’s not so much about actually setting resolutions as it is setting goals for myself and making some sort of effort towards them.

As I consider the things I want to accomplish in 2022, the list in my head is dauntingly long. They include both small and big things like traveling to specific destinations I’ve been wanting to go for years, spending more time writing so I can published more content, and reading specific books that are sitting on shelves, some that have been in my possession for several years now and others that I had purchased or been gifted only a few months ago. When I think back to certain moments during the pandemic, when I was feeling pretty low, the thoughts that pulled me through the darkness were those of hope to do the things I deemed high priority once I got a chance – essentially my bucket list. So this year, instead of setting specific new years resolutions, I’m simply going to focus on crossing off items on my bucket list. Since my bucket list has always been in my head, the first step is to make my next blog post be one that formalizes my bucket list by actually writing it down and posting it. I foresee this to be a post that will be dynamic, ever evolving as I cross things off, add new things and possibly even change items as I and my dreams change.

Have you set new years resolutions, intentions, goals or new bucket list items for yourself this year? Feel free to share them with me so I can support you in your 2022 journey.
