This is a post that I drafted in April of 2018 about another one of my passions, shopping and more specifically bargain hunting at outlets, that I never got around to publishing. While I had the pictures and started writing the content for it, I only finished it now.
Kate Spade has a special place in my heart and I’ll tell you why, but you may find it a little funny. The reason is because the first knock off fake purse I bought and owned during my college days was a Kate Spade large black bucket shoulder bag. It was only a few years ago when I finally bought a real authentic Kate Spade purse. Every time I have bought a Kate Spade item since, I can’t help but think of the fake shoulder bag that I bought and wore til it fell apart. I really did love and make use of that bag even if it wasn’t genuine!
When I went to the Houston Premium Outlets, I was looking for a simple and functional wristlet for the days that I didn’t feel like wearing a purse. I’ve always admired Kate Spade’s classic designs and found the perfect wristlet that was on sale. I liked that the exterior only had a small nondescript plate with the logo. When I want a classic simple design, I prefer not having a huge brand name logo screaming out. The material was a slightly textured smooth and shiny leather so was easy to wipe off and clean.

I liked that it had a pocket for my cell phone, though the fit was a bit tight, along with enough card slots that I needed and a window card slot for my ID. I don’t like buying wallets that don’t have that window slot for my driver’s license. Then there was a large inside pocket on the right side for money.

Unfortunately I don’t know how much I paid for it since I got rid of the receipt (thanks to my minimalism ways), but if I remember correctly, I paid maybe about $25 since it was on sale for an additional discount when I bought it
As an update to this post, I did end up getting rid of this wristlet only about a year or two ago because the pocket where I put my cell phone started to rip and come apart at the top inside edge. I did use this quite often and was disappointed it did not hold up longer. Since it was tight for my cell phone, eventually the material gave way and a tear formed. Once that happened it got worse fairly quickly. I was sad to let this one go and have since gone into Kate Spade a few times for a replacement, but have not liked any of the recent styles and am still on the hunt for something similar to this. If you see anything similar, and for any other brand, please do let me know by dropping me a comment!
