NY Outlet Shopping – True Religion

This is another blog post that I initially wrote in April of 2018 that I never finished and published.  Since I had it written out, was only missing a picture, the fact this product is still available for purchase and bargain hunting shopping is still a passion of mine, I went ahead and took the long overdue picture of me wearing what I bought to add to this post along with adding some updates at the end so I can finally publish it!

Shopping at the NY Woodbury outlets was the first time I bought anything from the brand True Religion. I never particularly cared for the super heavy stitching especially on the back pocket designs that this brand is known for, so that is why I hadn’t invested in this brand before. Historically, my go to denim brands have been Joe’s Jeans, AG and Paige being the most recent.  I purchased all these brands under my $50 self-imposed maximum price, but some only cost me $25, by getting lucky when doing some serious bargain hunting at various outlets across the country.

When I slipped on the True Religion’s Becca Mid-Rise Boot-Cut Jean, it fit me perfectly and felt quite soft and stretchy.  The stitching on the back pocket was not thick and heavy either so that was a good thing too.  When I saw the sale price with a 75% discount to $50 from $199 retail price, I couldn’t resist buying them.  As of September 2022, the website shows the retail price has dropped to $149 and currently has them on sale for 40% off for a price of $89.40.

I’ve had these for over 4 years now and is still a pair I gravitate to because of the mid-rise and boot cut style.  I hate the feeling of high rise pants and that seems to annoyingly still be in fashion for quite some time now.  My preference is actually low or ultra low rise jeans where the waist band sits at my hip bone, because I feel so constricted and my navel ring usually gets irritated with anything higher than a low rise.  Same thing with skinny leg styles, once again my calves tend to feel itchy after a few hours of wearing that style.  Plus I always felt like boot cut was more flattering for my body type by elongating my legs more.  If I had a chance to buy this pair for $50 or less, I would buy another.
