Numerology Intro

Numbers play an important role in many different areas, even the bible highlights the number 3 a few times represented by the Holy Trinity, the three wise men and the three gifts they offered baby Jesus. As I started looking into tarot and astrology last year, I eventually came across numerology. Numerology is defined as: The study of the occult meanings of numbers and their energy’s supposed influence on human life. Like many of the other metaphysical topics I am blogging about, from spirituality, Feng Shui and Law of Attraction, these are difficult to prove in a physical tangible way, but I believe there are many energies that exist and can be felt which are not visible to the naked eye.

It was only after learning the description of house address numbers and being surprised at how it fairly accurately described the negative aspects of my experience in the house I purchased in Houston and my childhood home that I decided to look further into numerology. I discovered that each number has its own characteristics and that there are different types of numbers one is assigned to based on various aspects, such as birthdate, full name, which converts letters into numbers, and even one’s cell phone number. I purchased a basic numerology report from Numerologist.com and in future posts will detail what it says for my specifically calculated numbers while also giving some insight on whether I feel it resonates or not.

There are a few basic numbers that each person should be aware of with regards to numerology:

  • Birth Day (Psychic/Ruling) Number: explains the nature of your existence, your true self, and lends to the events that unfold throughout your lifetime.
    • Determined by reducing the sum of your birth day to a single digit.
    • This number does not change.
  • Life Path Number: reveals unique personality traits, most fulfilling life direction, the major lessons you’re here to learn and the specific opportunities and challenges you will encounter throughout your life.
    • Derived by adding the month, day, and the year you were born. There are actually two conflicting ways to calculate this number which I will detail in the associated separate blog post.
    • This number does not change.
  • Destiny (Expression) Number: highlights natural talents, abilities, potential and what you are meant to accomplish in this lifetime.
    • Enumerated by adding the assigned numerical values of all the letters in your name.
    • This number can change if a person changes their name.
  • Soul Urge (Heart’s Desire) Number: represents the deep inner self, hidden motivations, cravings and urges, along with inherent likes and dislikes. It reveals the true intention behind most actions and decisions and it shows what the soul needs to grow and evolve in life and relationships.
    • Quantified by adding the assigned numerical values of the vowels in your name.
    • This number can change if a person changes their name.
  • Personality Number: indicates what other people think about you, the dominant personality traits that are most perceived by others.
    • Computed by adding together the assigned numerical values of the consonants in your name.
    • This number can change if a person changes their name.

It is important to note that there are some double digit numbers that are not further reduced to a single number because they are considered Master Numbers, which are 11, 22 and 33 or Karmic Debt Numbers, which are 13, 14, 16 and 19. Master Numbers and Karmic Debt Numbers have a unique meaning that is separate from the sum of their double digit numbers to a single digit. However, it is not unusual for both these types of numbers to have some of the characteristics of the summed number that they add up to. For example, 11 may exhibit some characteristics of the number 2 since 1+1 adds up to 2 and 19 may coincide with number 1 energies since 1+9 =10 which would be further reduced by adding 1+0 =1.

The other aspect that is now a big part of my life, involves combining numerology with spirituality. Angel numbers, which are repetitive numbers shown to us, such as 111 or 1111, convey messages from the other realm namely from guardian angels, which I personally believe is from God himself since he created all the angels. These are usually noticed when looking at the time on a clock, license plates, signage and even receipts for things we purchased. The messages may be one of guidance, reminder, warning, encouragement or elude to something good on the way. The Life Path Number is also referred to as one’s angel number. I intend to write a specific Angel Number series of blog posts that will review the basic angel numbers from 1-9.

It is through further researching my own numeric profile while getting guidance through Angel Numbers, that I hope to further understand myself and proceed with my spiritual journey to reach my fullest potential.
