This is a guided practice for a Full Moon that is performed during a full moon ritual. Please refer to my Full Moon Ritual post for further details of the entire ritual. This guided practice does not have any music in the background so please feel free to play some on your own if you so desire.
To prepare for this practice, please have a pen or pencil and paper ready. It is preferred to physically write instead of typing on a computer as there will be recommendations on what to do with the paper once completed with this releasing practice.
Take a deep breath in, hold and breathe out through your mouth. Inhale, hold and exhale. Breathe in, hold and breathe out. We will now set an intention to connect with our higher self, higher power entities, emotions and thoughts. Feel free to repeat after me either out loud or in your head.
I am open to connecting fully with my emotions.
I am open to connecting fully with my thoughts.
I am open to becoming aware of my inner hidden thoughts and emotions.
I am open to connecting with my higher self.
I am open to receiving any guidance from my higher self that will serve me.
I am open to connecting with God, Universe, guardian and archangels.
I am open to receiving any guidance from my higher power team that will serve me.
Now I will ask several questions with silence in between with the intent to allow time to think and write down anything that comes to mind around each question. Be mindful of everything that comes up and do not filter any thoughts or emotions, because if something unexpected comes to mind, the chances are it is something that you are ready to release.
- What thoughts are you ready to release?
- What beliefs are you ready to let go of?
- What habits are you ready to stop?
- What patterns are you ready to let go of?
- What feelings are you ready to release?
- What emotions are you ready to let go of?
- What fears are you ready to release?
- What judgements of yourself are you ready to let go of?
- What judgements of others are you ready to release?
- What are you ready to forgive?
- Who are you ready to forgive?
- What are you ready to heal from?
This writing practice should have brought to light all things that you are ready to let go of and forgive for this full moon phase. The next step is to actively release these thoughts, beliefs, habits, patterns, feelings, emotions, fears, judgements or things and people you are ready to forgive. Consciously releasing what you have written down may be done a few different ways.
One method is to say out loud and completing the following sentences based on what you wrote down. You may choose to group things together and summarize or say each one individually.
I am choosing to release…
I am consciously letting go of…
I forgive…
Another method is to imagine putting things into the palm of your hand and blowing it away from you or into a big balloon and visualizing the balloon floating out your window where God, Angels or Universe takes it away from you. Once again you may choose to group things together in a summarized format or put each item into individual balloons. Please feel free to take as much time as you need to complete this active releasing process.
In a fire safe container and in a safe environment, burn the paper(s) that you wrote down as you actively imagine releasing all these things as the paper turns to ash. If you choose to do this part of the practice, please take precautions and be safe.
Lastly, feel free to take time to think about what you are open to receiving between now and the next full moon. This will further prepare you for manifesting your desires and intentions. Anything written down should be done in present tense as if it is already occurring. Do not start it as “I might, may, or hope.” It also should be realistic yet pushes yourself a little, like a gentle stretch beyond your comfort zone so it makes you feel slightly nervous. It is also recommended to start writing with feelings of gratitude, “I am so happy now that…”. In accordance with the Law of Attraction and Law of Assumption, settling into the feeling as if it has already happened is the most critical part of the setting the intention. This written intention may then also be used when making moon juice or lunar water. You may refer to my How to Make Moon Juice post on detailed instructions.
