Per a report I purchased from Numerologist.com, it provides both a high level overview explanation of what a Life Path Number is and what my specific Life Path Number means for me. It describes the Life Path Number as follows: It is the most important number in the numerology chart revealing one’s most fulfilling life direction, the major lessons to learn and the specific opportunities and challenges that will be encountered throughout life. It also illuminates unique personality traits that will help through the journey of life. When living a life that is aligned with the values, gifts and attributes of one’s Life Path Number, abundance and joy will abound. Basically this Number represents your Life’s Path indicating what path in life you will be led to.
It is also referred to as the “Destiny” Number, what you are destined to be, do and face in this lifetime. Revealing the circumstances and opportunities that will be naturally attracted throughout life, it provides the signposts to help achieve self-awareness. Numerology helps decode the essential patterns and vibrations that guide you throughout your life so you know what you were born to do and be.
The Life Path Number is calculated by reducing the sum of the entire date of birth to a single digit. Obviously a person’s date of birth cannot change so the Life Path Number cannot change. However, there are conflicting methods I’ve seen to doing this so it is possible to end up with different Life Path Numbers. I’ll start with the method used by the Numerologist.com report I received:
Start by reducing the month of birth, day of birth, and year of birth to single digits for each. Then add those 3 numbers together and reduce the sum to a single digit to get the final Life Path Number. For example, if the date of birth is December 13, 1979, If I use this method, the calculation looks like the following:
Month: 1+2 = 3
Day: 1+3 = 4
Year: 1+9+7+9 = 26; Further reduce to a single digit 2+6 = 8
Adding 3+4+8 = 15; Further reduce to a single digit 1+5 = 6 Life Path Number
The other calculation method I’ve seen is by adding the month, day and year all together, then reducing to a single digit. Using the example above, the calculation looks like the following:
1+2+1+3+1+9+7+9 = 33, which if you add 3+3, it would also add up to a 6 Life Path Number. However, there is a caveat to this.
The reason there may be a difference with the resulting Life Path Number with the different calculation is because it may result in a Master or Karmic Debt Number, which have a unique meaning that is separate from the sum of their double digit numbers to a single digit and usually is not reduced to a single digit. That being said, it is not unusual for both these types of numbers to have some of the characteristics of the summed number that they add up to. Master Numbers are 11, 22 and 33 and Karmic Debt Numbers are 13, 14, 16 and 19. So with the second calculation of the example, the 33 should not be reduced to 6.
Depending which method is used, my calculation can result in either a Karmic Debt Number of 13 which should not be reduced or 31, which is reduced to 4.
Per the detailed report I received, which uses the first calculation method and does not mention anything about either Master or Karmic Debt Numbers, it says my Life Path Number is 4 and this is the detailed description of it:
- CHALLENGES: You may have to overcome difficulties and obstacles in your life, and while this is hard for others, it will give you a deep sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. When you do encounter issues in your life, it is probably because you’ve been trying to carry the burdens of others. It is important for you to put some energy into learning to understand others, and you will attract people who are honest and sincere, and not deceptive.
- Someone, who knew me for a long time, once said to me that they were amazed how I’ve graciously overcome all the things that my life threw at me, especially knowing many details of numerous negative things that usually involved others from romantic relationships, friends, such as one described in my WOTW: 7. Emotion post to family drama. Of course, everyone in this world has to deal with issues and problems in with people in all these areas, but I seemed to have a regular stream of one thing or another happening to the point it felt like more than most. All that being said, I believe the energy that I have put into learning myself better has helped me to understand others as well and in the past year alone, I have attracted new sincere, honest people into my life who are aligned with my own interests and values and feel I have avoided more issues as a result!
- WORK: You value hard work and will spend your life pursuing success. You will be successful in business through your tenacity and organization. Your successes will not come about through luck, privilege, or good connections with others. Instead you will flourish through your own honesty and efforts. You are likely very successful in your business, and even if you start with something small, you can build it into something great during your lifetime.
You love hands-on work, and since you are so practical and positive, you probably volunteer or do charity work outside of your day job. This type of activity is very favorable for you, because it gives you the opportunity to socialize with like-minded individuals, and is also a practical way to give of yourself in a constructive fashion, which is something that can cause great happiness.- I have always been described as EXTREMELY hard working and personally feel I have gotten to where I am today solely because of my work ethic, not through luck or privilege, exactly as this states. I do hope that with me starting small with writing these blog posts and even my short stories, that I will eventually be able to write and publish something really great in my lifetime! I am extremely organized and do love hands-on work so have been doing volunteer work that is exactly that, from building houses with Habitat for Humanity or serving animals by getting downright dirty by cleaning their poop and can say I have derived true happiness from those efforts!
- RELATIONSHIPS: For many people in your life, you are a rock-solid source of support and you are trusted and reliable. Your devotion, natural sincerity, helpfulness, loyalty and trustworthiness, and responsibility are building blocks of your character, and they will not go unnoticed by others. However, people may try to take advantage of you by making you deal with their responsibilities or burdens. You have very high standards, and you are happiest when you have work to do. This may make it difficult for you to understand others who are more free-spirited and you may see them as irresponsible.
- I know I am not perfect and have had my moments where I was not a good friend, girlfriend, daughter, or sister, co-worker or boss and I have done bad things, wishing I did or said things differently, but I continue to try to learn from my past mistakes and be a better person than I was the day before. So while I hope all the good aspects mentioned here is accurate most of the time, I would have to defer to those in my life to really speak to whether this is accurate of me from their perspective. I think the last couple of sentences are spot on as I do have extremely high standards and once again have had numerous people specifically tell me I needed to lower my standards, which quite frankly always pissed me off, because I felt I was being told to settle for less. I am happiest when I have work to do and do struggle understanding others who appear from my perspective to be less diligent and hard working, and perceive them as either lazy or irresponsible, which is likely related to a bias I have.
- LOVE/ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIPS: You may struggle with finding and expressing passion or romance in your personal relationships-unless you find a partner who is very similar to you. But, you may be attracted to romantic partners who are exciting and love having fun and taking risks. You may find it difficult to relate to these kinds of people though, because of the variety, change, and drama that fuels them.
- I disagree with the description of having trouble with finding and expressing passion and romance and rather think I have trouble being open and expressing my emotions in romantic relationships. I do agree that I have been attracted to romantic partners who love having fun and taking risks, but have a hard time relating to those characteristics myself.
- NEGATIVE CHARACTERISTICS: When you’re stressed, you may be prone to thinking that your way of doing things is the only way, and becoming biased or inflexible can lead to troubles for you. People may often perceive you as stubborn and way too serious.
- This is 100% true of me and I not only know it, but claim it! I am totally stubborn and can be very inflexible. It is how I have been most of my life and honestly not something I can see really changing much. I also have been told more times than I can count, “Stop being so serious!” by many different people and that is how I am naturally. I’m the one person in a room full of other laughing at something funny who is not laughing, because I simply don’t appreciate the humor of things. I suppose it is because I have such a seriousness to me. And I am of the mindset that everyone in this world is biased because we are all human, but know that I of all people can lean towards my biases especially when I am stressed. I think what is even worse is that I don’t really try to change any of these aspects of myself, which I know is not to my benefit.
Overall, I think almost everything seemed to resonate with me, which was a bit surprising since I did not get this with my first post Numerology: Birth Day. I recommend checking the Numerology.com website out if you are interested in what your Life Path Number reveals about you, as well as doing other online searches for more detailed information since it only gives a brief description. Hopefully you will gain some insight as I did.
But since this is considered the most important number of one’s Numerology profile, I did additional research online to see what else is said about Life Path 4s and will do a second post on the Life Path Number since there were other things mentioned that I feel are worth going into to help me understand myself better. I also plan to research the Karmic Debt Number 13, since I am curious to see what that says to see if I resonate with both methods of calculations. I hope after completing the second Life Path Number post, I will have an even greater understanding of where my life may lead me.
