This is a continuation of a previous post: NUMEROLOGY: Life Path (Part 1) so please consider reviewing that first if you have not already. Since the Life Path is considered the most important number of one’s Numerology profile, I did additional research online and sourced all of the information below from many different websites plus AstroFinesse’s YouTube video. As a quick recap, the Life Path or “Destiny” Number eludes to what one is destined to be, do and face in this lifetime and understanding your specific number provides an opportunity for greater self-awareness, which may help better navigate life. It is calculated by reducing the sum of the entire date of birth to a single digit, but can be done in one of two ways, which may result in a karmic or master number that should be reviewed differently than the single digit sum of both numbers. This post is based on the calculation method that resulted with my Life Path Number being 4.
This is referred to as a Teacher, Worker Bee or Master Builder, representing the builders or workers of society who bring stability. These are people who tend to be honest, practical, rational, disciplined, consistent, determined, serious, controlling, systematic, fair, dependable, grounded, down-to-earth, and extremely organized, methodical, logical with a great, but dry, sense of humor. I was astonished to be able to agree that these words are all accurate descriptions of my characteristics and know others would agree because I recently had a 360 degree feedback done at work and several of the words to describe Life Path 4 is exactly how my colleagues described me.
With an inclination towards accumulating as much knowledge as possible, being a stickler with rules, justice, loyalty and hard work to always get things done no matter what, LP 4s are an asset at work, within their communities and even with the world in general. Hard work drives these people because they find it rewarding for themselves, but it is worth noting that they also expect the same of those around them. These aren’t the types who look for an easy way to succeed or climb the corporate ladder. I am the type who often deep dives into whatever it is I am focused on because I love to get as much knowledge on a topic as I possibly can. My only issue is I don’t have a great memory. I wish I had a photographic memory because I know I’d be so much more efficient and who knows what else I could accomplish! As for the rest mentioned with regards to rules, justice, loyalty and hard work and expecting similar of my colleagues, those are perfectly exemplified with my job. I have been at my company for 20 years, so that is a example of loyalty. My current role is all about compliance, so making sure that all rules are followed and ensuring that any offenders are dealt with fairly and consistently across the board. And last but probably the most applicable of all, is the fact that I have worked extremely hard at my job throughout the years and more often than not, too much so! As a manager I do have very high standards and expectations of my team as I want them to be able to keep up with me, but is something I am also learning to temper by further understanding each unique individuals’ strengths and weaknesses.
4 people do not give in easily, or sometimes not at all, to peer pressure. Because of their supreme sensibility, it doesn’t matter how many people may be trying to convince them otherwise, Life Path 4s will stand their ground. After reading this, I tried to think of any specific examples, but couldn’t come up with a particular instance in my past. When I asked my boyfriend if he thought this was accurate of me, he said yes because it is related to my stubbornness, which made me laugh because I could see how that is true. I know when I was younger, I was much more susceptible to peer pressure, which was not helped by my painful shyness and predisposition to not speaking up for myself. As I’ve matured, I know I hold on much stronger to my convictions and have the confidence to stand by them regardless.
Avoiding arguments is their preference because they abhor appearing stupid or naïve in any situation, yet 4s somehow often end up in them because when secure in their knowledge, they won’t hesitate to voice their understanding and opinion of those things. Once again, since finding my voice and having more courage to speak out, I do end up challenging others regularly when, based on my knowledge and expertise, I know something is inaccurate. I wouldn’t say that these instances result in arguments though, because I am always able to relay the correct information with enough support or proof that results in the other party understanding and accepting whatever I have to say.
4s prefer to move slowly and deliberately with things that are tangible and solid. As an example, they love adventure, but will meticulously plan their travel with a color-coded itinerary because they fear chaos and uncertainty from spontaneity. If I had it my way all the time, I would spend a long time focused on whatever task I set out to do and execute in as precise and organized manner as possible. Of course, that is not often realistic or feasible, so I have learned to adapt from that desired tendency to getting things done as well as I can, as quickly as I can. I will say though, that I have heard comments from friends and family about how crazy detailed my travel itineraries are!
Their main priority evolves around security, which includes home, financial security instead of simply money and respect versus fame. It was eye opening to see this is black and white, because I never really thought about it this way and realize that, yes, this absolutely is a driver for how I live my life. My ultimate goal is to feel completely secure in my home, which I view as my sanctuary, finances, so that I don’t have to worry about money. Fame is something I would shy away from because I don’t want the attention, but rather having the respect of those I interact with is very important to me.
One source indicated the strong desire for security may be a result of a childhood trauma that resulted in a feeling of vulnerability. It is also possible due to this past that explains why they are so driven to protect – self, belongings and things, and the people who matter to them. I can’t think of a specific memory that this may be related to, but if something comes up in the future around this, I will do a separate blog post about it.
4s are often the most loyal trustworthy friend who has a big heart and values honesty in all their different types of relationships. They are the one to count on to get everyone home safely after a wild night out. Yes to this! Here’s a quick story that some may find entertaining. I did exactly this for a dear friend’s birthday when a whole party bus was about to depart a club. I myself had too much to drink that night, but about 15 minutes before the bus was scheduled to depart, I made a quick trip to the bathroom to purge my overindulgence and quickly proceeded to round up all the people in our party, get them on the bus and do a headcount to ensure no one was left behind before the bus pulled away and have done similar on several other occasions as well.
Potential careers, that utilize LP 4 strengths of having a good work ethic, head for business, excelling at anything they set their mind to and bringing stability to the work environment, includes being a manager or other type of leader, editor, accountant, organizer and analyst. I can say with complete confidence that I have a very strong work ethic which is recognized by those I work with. As for a good head for business, I’m not so sure about that. I have and said this to others before, that whatever I chose to do, even if I hated it, I was successful at it. I have been in several leader type roles, currently am a manager, have been in accounting and analyst roles as well as project management, which requires fastidious organizational skills. While I have edited thousands of business related documents from processes, business plans, newsletters to even technical documents, I never held an actual editor role. This honestly is something that I have long been curious about, wishing I had an opportunity to try my hand at editing publications such as articles or even books. If anyone out there knows of a editor role or even a single editing project that they would be willing to give me a chance on, please let me know because I would love to utilize all my writing and corporate editing skills with something I would enjoy doing.
Some sources say those with this Life Path number are born teachers, though not in the traditional sense, but rather by demonstrating an undeniable depth of knowledge and sharing it all with others. I groaned when I read this because I have always detested when I had to conduct formal training sessions at work or train new hires because it was not something I particularly enjoyed. Yet I was constantly asked to do it because apparently everyone loves the way I trained and taught. I guess I am destined to be a teacher in some ways.
Negative characteristics for those with a 4 Life Path Number include the following: Around strangers, a sense of anti-social impressions are common. Ain’t this the truth. As an introvert, I always shy away from initiating conversations, especially with people I don’t know. I have a lot of friends who are extroverted (because they were the ones to initiate and engage me first) and whenever I happen to be in an elevator with an extroverted friend and other strangers, I find myself amazed how my friend always ends up talking to the people they don’t know. I’m the type to lower my gaze, not make eye contact, not wanting to even acknowledge I’m in the elevator to begin with! Yes, I am totally anti-social.
Those with this life path are sensible, traditional, well-behaved and tend to avoid people who are the opposite of them. It is difficult for these people to understand others who are big risk takers, don’t follow the rules, or don’t thrive in a traditional work or family environments. I think because I am very set in my ways and rigid, it is difficult for me to put myself in others shoes who are so different from mine, so I definitely wrestle with trying to understand others who for example, don’t work hard to achieve stability in work so that they can have a consistent job and/or home.
These people can get too caught up in little details, be stubborn, rigid, tight-fisted, boring, controlling, intolerant and impatient with those around them because of their tendency to project their incredibly high standards to others. They also overwork themselves to the detriment of work life balance and can be vengeful when seeking justice if they felt they were wronged. Once again all of this is spot on with me. All of these things are areas that I know I need to work on, especially working so hard that it negatively affects my life. I wonder if the fact that I’m a Scorpio along with a Life Path 4 is a coincidence regarding being vengeful or if that may actually amplify that aspect in me coming from both Astrology and Numerology perspectives.
Advice for 4s: Because of the highly intense way these people absorb and process information and the way they work, setting substantial time to find ways to relax and cultivate peace and quiet is crucial to maintain mental and physical health. These people must learn to build a stable foundation in all aspects of their lives emotionally, physically, mentally, and materially. Lastly, 4s have several great creatively innovative ideas, but don’t open up to share them with others. This ends up becoming a lost opportunity to improve things which would be very much appreciated by others who would beneficially be impacted by it.
Lessons to learn in this lifetime: Work through problems with family. While everyone has family issues to deal with, the 4 Life Path is destined to be particularly intense in this area. For 4s to heal, learn and unlock their gifts in this lifetime, it is said to be crucial to look closely at broken, problematic, or hurtful relationships and work through the pain and resulting feelings of lack. Another lesson is to go outside the box and take chances and risks by both understanding and finding a way to overcome limitations, both those that are externally imposed as well as those that are self-imposed. An example of this is, prone to staying at a job, one they may even hate, for the main reason being it pays the bills in attempts to strive for the stability they so much desire, while avoiding taking risks. Lastly, to make the most in life, they should work with the positive characteristics and share knowledge as a means to develop a sense of security.
Both the advice and lessons I am meant to learn resonate greatly with me. It is a constant struggle to step away from my computer to take a break and take care of me, especially lately with all my ambitions with my blog and spiritual journey. I feel I am constantly juggling to find balance and stability with all areas of my life and end up sacrificing at least a couple at some point, not quite figuring out how to achieve it. Being open, especially creatively, when it comes to my thoughts and ideas is something I am slowly working on. I do have several ideas that I have kept to myself that I have yet to either work on or share with others so I can try to bring them to fruition. As for problems with family and dealing with the related pain and feelings of lack, which I was shocked to see, because I know my not being good enough issue stems a lot from it, is something I am focused on with my spiritual journey. Aside from staying at my job due to loyalty, it is also greatly because I fear taking a chance doing anything else and is the financial means to remain relatively stable. As for making the most of my life, I am curious if my blogging, which does apply several LP 4 characteristics and shares my knowledge with others is a method for me to further develop my sense of security.
