Per my What Does Mars Really Have to do with Men? blog post, the Moon represents the deep internal emotional side to you, where your instincts and desires are and your private side that is only shown when comfortable. Per Cafe Astrology, it says the Moon represents the emotional responses, unconscious pre-destination, and the self-image. The Moon represents the emotions, and the Moon sign shows how a person expresses themselves when at home, at ease, and comfortable.
My moon is in Taurus and the way I’d generically describe myself with this placement is having an internal desire to strive for the true comforts in life which ultimately brings me pleasure, from eating good food to feeling comfortable in my home surrounded by what I deem as luxurious, such as having high quality bedsheets as an example. Taurus being ruled by Venus lends to a deep appreciation for beauty which can be reflected in material things as well. This does mean having enough money to sustain this type of lifestyle. With Taureans tendency to be stubborn, this can make them quite rigid and dedicated to do whatever it may take to reach their desired goals.
According to my natal/birth chart from Cafe Astrology this is the description the report provides:
Familiarity is important to Lunar Taureans. These people are earthy and strong-willed. They feel with their senses and they are pretty much rooted in their ways. They revel in material comforts–in fact, building a solid and comfortable home and foundation helps to keep them feeling safe and content.
It isn’t wise to try to push Lunar Taureans into doing anything, but once they have made a commitment, they’re persevering. There’s a steadiness to this position of the Moon that is comforting to those close to them. But the conservative streak in these natives can be maddening to more progressive personalities. They tend to go out of their way to avoid “messy” or unpredictable situations, crises, and emotional displays. Instead, they focus on creating a reliable and secure life around them. In relationships, Lunar Taureans may not easily recognize their partner’s need for change, growth, or emotional stimulation.
Moon in Taurus natives are generally very romantic. Their affections are strong, deep, and unwavering. They are sentimental and warm. Since Taurus is a practical earth sign, the placement of the Moon in this sign suggests an ability to protect themselves and their own interests. They will rarely make a move without first determining that it is safe and that there’s something in it for them. Generally, Taurus Moon people have reliable instincts. They are very much tied to the physical world, and they often have a particularly well-developed sense of smell. Relationships with people born with this position of the Moon are often quite enduring. Many Moon in Taurus people hang onto their mates, even in the face of serious conflict. Taurus is a fixed sign, so break-ups don’t happen easily.
There is a serenity to them that is calming. In fact, it takes a lot to really get to them. However, they do get off-center every once in a while. They are not the most adaptable people when their own routine is interrupted, for example. Though some Lunar Taureans might be considered anal, most simply have a stubborn streak that keeps them rather resistant to change. Rarely are they spontaneous sorts. Uncomfortable with surprises, these natives value stability. Their needs are strong but quite simple at the same time–they love the “good things” in life. The world of the five senses is all-important to these natives. Their love of stability and steadiness can make them slaves to routine. However, they are loyal and capable people.
Short description:
Sweetness itself. Convinced of their ideas and strong-willed. She is foresighted and willful. She knows how to trust. She appreciates all the good things in life. She appreciates and protects Nature.
Possible issues: excesses in pleasure, laziness, sensuality, thoughtlessness.
From my perspective 99% of this description feels accurate to my character, with the one thing I disagree with being having a well-developed sense of smell. I think my sense of smell is simply average. Material comforts is most definitely a top priority for me and having a home that I really love is the foundation for my sense of stability. I have been a self-proclaimed shopaholic for most of my adult life and I do a ton of research to ensure I buy the best of the best when it comes to furnishing my home to the clothes, shoes, and technology I surround myself with. And I have continued to worked hard for decades to ensure I have the paycheck to fund this lifestyle that I desire for myself. I recognize this is not a good trait to have because I do go overboard in this area of life and should probably be spending my money on other things or simply saving it.
The indication that break ups don’t happen easily is very true for me as well, but I’d like to explain this one a little further. I have predominantly been the one to do the breaking up in all my past relationships, but that is only after years of staying in the relationship when I have long been having doubts and not wanting to continue for whatever reason. I stayed mainly because I kept thinking or hoping that things would change, but I didn’t even take any significant steps toward trying to initiate any of those changes. This is something that I don’t like about myself and regret because I feel I have wasted over a decade of my life staying in relationships that I was not wanting to be in to begin with.
Lastly, yes I am super anal and have been called OCD more times than I can count. Same goes for being stubborn and very stringent with sticking to routines, I don’t budge or deviate hardly ever. I hate spontaneity and surprises because they leave me with a sense of loss of control, though I have forced myself time and time again to be spontaneous on occasion because I know it is not good being completely rigid. Since I feel very bull-headed, while I recognize the negative aspects, these are things I have never fully attempted to change about myself. It is only recently that I have even entertained the idea of trying to evolve from these bad characteristics to create a better version of myself.
As indicated in my What Does Mars Really Have to do with Men? post, I will also go over another person’s chart, named Kali, who is born on the same month and day as I was, but different year and location to offer a comparison of how two people with the same birth day, can be vastly different despite both being Scorpios. According to Kali’s natal/birth chart from Café Astrology her Moon is in Leo and this is the description the report provides:
Depending on other positions in the chart, Moon in Leo people are not necessarily outgoing. When they feel comfortable, they do like being the center of attention. That is, they like being in the “spotlight” in the comfort of their own homes and with family and friends. They enjoy entertaining others, and often take on the role of comic. Lunar Leos often feel a need to organize, and even control, their families and friends. They have an inner mission to set things right, and generally like to oversee the goings-on in their little circle.
This is a rather creative position of the Moon. At the very least, Moon in Leo people want to create and entertain. They can be rather lazy at times, and a little bossy too. Generally, though, they have a deep need to treat others fairly and justly. Lunar Leos require lots and lots of love and care in order to function well in the world. When they feel slighted, these people can be dramatic in their emotional displays. When their pride has been hurt, they are given to big scenes and sulking. This rarely happens in public, however. Lunar Leos are far too concerned about their image to make splashy scenes outside the comfort of their own homes. In public, they prefer to take things in dignified ways. At home, however, they’re given to big displays of emotional drama. These scenes generally don’t last too long, however. Lunar Leos are often personally popular folk who are valued for their integrity and strong sense of justice. Generally, it is easy to reason with a Lunar Lion. Appealing to their well-developed sense of fairness usually works well.
Short description:
She is brave, knowing how to take risks and possessing the courage of her convictions, honest, imposing, and sharp. She has a great sense of, and respect for, justice. Organizational sense. Selectivity with friends but is not overly influenced by them. Taste for splendor.
Potential issues: changing and numerous affections. Emotionally demanding and proud. Brooding when attention is not forthcoming.
