Per my All My Houses blog post, I generically describe the House System in astrology going into what each House represents. There are many different house systems and this post is based on specifically using the Placidus House system. It is believed that houses with any planet within it is of significance so the specific planet will have a particular influence on whatever the House it is in represents. As part of my blog series of using astrology to understand myself better, I will go over each astrological body’s house placement based on my natal/birth chart.
According to my Cafe Astrology birth/natal report, where you can also go to run your own report, Mars is in my 10th House. The 10th House is related to the Capricorn sign, called the House of Enterprise, and can impact how you gain finances, such as through career, to build your home, status and success in life. It represents the work you will do in your life and the place you will take in the world of society, with this becoming more important as you grow older.
With Mars being in my 10th House, the report describes this placement as the following:
She devotes lots of energy to work, and this can continue well into old age. She is a dedicated worker, not afraid of getting down to it. She improves upon her living conditions, rising above her station at birth. She can complete long-term tasks successfully and with finesse. She is easily excitable, often quick to become upset and in the same vein criticizes even herself.
In half of my Astrology posts, because so many of my astrological placements affect my work in some way, I’ve mentioned my dedication to working hard, extended hours to compete long-term tasks and projects and how a majority of my energy is spent on this one area of my life compared to any other is the way I have always been. I won’t belabor that in this post since I’ve gone into so much detail from a few various perspectives in my other posts where this topic was relevant. The only thing that I will say is that I notice it says this will be the case well into my old age and that does not surprise me. When I think of retirement, I know that I am likely to get bored easily. I look forward to retirement being the time that I can focus a majority of my time on all my creative interests, including writing. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is the time I would have to write a book or two!
I do believe because of my tenacity to put everything I have into work and the position I have come to at work, that I have come a long way and improved my living conditions and am at a higher level than when I was born. I can’t entirely see how I am considered the type to be easily excitable, but I can be easily upset, though most people would likely not even know it since I am prone to keeping it to myself and hidden. The last part about criticizing myself is true and another thing that I have mentioned in so many other of my previous blog posts, so I won’t discuss that any further here either.
I see my Mars placement really reinforcing a lot of the other placements I have in my natal chart. Because of how the various astrological bodies seem to play into how I am with work, I wonder if that only emphasizes or increases those certain characteristics, since it is not one or even only a couple or a few, but rather almost half of my chart that eludes to the way I am in this area. If pulling Numerology into the picture, especially with my Life Path (Karmic Debt #13), then part of my purpose in life may include changing this part of me that is so ingrained so that I have more balance and enjoy life more, not working so much!
As indicated in my What Does Mars Really Have to do with Men? post, I will also go over another person’s chart, referred to as Kali, who is born on the same month and day as I was, but different year and location to offer a comparison of how two people with the same birth day, can be vastly different despite being both Scorpios. According to Kali’s natal/birth chart from Café Astrology her Mars is located in her 11th House.
The 11th House is related to the Aquarius sign and called the House of Blessings. It is the area of search for social and intellectual security through the application of creativity, skills, talents, and drive from the 5th House. This leads to how you share knowledge at individual friendship levels all the way up to greater humanitarian purposes.
This is the description Kali’s report provides:
She achieves her ambitions. She is impulsive and presses on sometimes without thinking. She starts something new without necessarily finishing the previous job. She likes to dominate and may lack diplomacy at times where friends and professional relations are concerned.
