Jupiter House Placement

Per my All My Houses blog post, I generically describe the House System in astrology going into what each House represents. There are many different house systems and this post is based specifically using the Placidus House system. It is believed that houses with any planet within it is of significance so the specific planet will have a particular influence on whatever the House it is in represents. As part of my blog series of using astrology to understand myself better, I will go over each astrological body’s house placement based on my natal/birth chart.

According to my Cafe Astrology birth/natal report, where you can also go to run your own report, Jupiter is in my 4th House. As indicated in my What Does Mars Really Have to do with Men? post, I will also go over another person’s chart, referred to as Kali, who is born on the same month and day as I was, but different year and location to offer a comparison of how two people with the same birth day, may be different despite being both Scorpios. According to Kali’s natal/birth chart from Café Astrology her Mercury is located in her 4th House, which is the same as mine, so in this instance we are not different and the description below applies to the both of us.

The 4th House is related to the Cancer sign and called the House of Home and Family. It is the area of home, family, roots, and deep emotions/sense of self-worth. It describes your upbringing and how emotional basis influences feeling fulfilled. This also influences the way you imagine your domestic life and home based on what makes you feel good and feel at home.

With Jupiter being in our 4th House, the report describes this placement as the following:
She likes and believes in justice. She is an optimist and is generous. Professional success is rapid and helped by the family. Family life is very important to her. She likes comfort, well-being at home. She knows how to entertain in style and above all with pleasure; her house is always open to friends.

I very much do like and believe in justice and my Pluto Sign post goes quite in depth into my beliefs and how I feel about that topic, so I won’t repeat it in this post. If you’ve read any number of my previous posts that I’ve written between August and December 2022, you will already know that I am the complete opposite of an optimist because I have a very dark and negative mindset, which I am having quite the time trying to change for myself. When it comes to being generous, I have my moments when I am and others when I am not. Lately, I would say I’ve been more generous when it comes to animals than anything else. There are so many options of various causes when it comes to donating time and money, but for 2022, animals, and more specifically Best Friends Animal Society, is where I have invested all my time and a majority of my monetary donations. And because I can’t resist, I’ve added two pictures of a dog, who I donated a Christmas gift to this year so he could enjoy some holiday cheer.

He looks happy to be wearing the Christmas gift I sent him!
How handsome is this boy, in this royal blue sweater I sent him as a Xmas gift?

What I find interesting is this Jupiter House Placement says that professional success is rapid, but my Sun House Placement in the 10th house said that “Successful career is guaranteed, but may sometimes come late.” In that Sun House Placement post, I indicated that I believe it was due to my own actions and decisions that my success with my corporate career with my company came late. But looking at the Jupiter House Placement description, I can also make an argument in another professional area that could be considered rapid success which is with regards to writing fiction and poetry. When I first tried writing short stories and submitted a few to a contest, I was selected and published. Since then, I’d been chosen a few times to read my stories for virtual events and had a poem published and performed on stage in front of a live audience. Considering these were my first attempts and my work was selected, I would consider that rapid success. However, I can’t say that either my corporate or writing professions have been directly helped by family.

I also do not agree that family life is VERY important to me because I do not feel extremely close to my family except for a few cousins whose relationships did not develop until I was an adult. Growing up, I felt like the odd one out of my family and did not feel close to either my parents, usually getting lectured by them for one thing or another, or my siblings who I would regularly fight with. So up until I went to college, I spent as much of my time alone, away from my family members, usually reading so I would not have to deal with any of that. Unlike most, I did not grow up with any extended family around either. As I grew older, I developed a close relationship with my brother out of all my immediate family members, but since he has passed away, I lost that. I have gotten closer to my sister, especially since she moved in with me for period of time after my brother passed, but living halfway across the country from each other now has reduced our communication more so. To be perfectly honest, and this is sad to say, I consider some of my friendships much closer and very important to me more so than my family.

As for comfort and well-being at home, it is something that I very much resonate with, but too much so! I dive further into that topic in my South Node Sign post, where I go into how this is an area that I likely have to move completely away from if I want to achieve what my North Node Sign indicates is my mission in life.

Moving on to the last sentence, I do love to entertain, such as having dinners, parties, or small gatherings with close friends and family, but I’m not sure if I’d necessarily say I do it in style. I do try when it comes to bigger or more meaningful events, such as when I decided to throw a Diner en Blanc themed birthday weekend for myself with 9 others, but because it takes a ton of planning and preparation, it is very rare I pull off this kind of styled event. I had so much fun making and finding all white accessories and decorations for the dinner, making white placemats by hand, name place cards and candle holders. It was a weekend event with many people flying in, so I planned everything from lodging, activities to all meals and agree that I find it pleasurable to host, when I have the time and energy to do so! And my house is always open to friends, but I will add family to that as well. It is a bit harder when my home is small and not as conducive to hosting guests, such as when I am living in an apartment, but I will always try to make do with what I have and have it be as comfortable and inviting as possible.
