Saturn House Placement

Per my All My Houses blog post, I generically describe the House System in astrology going into what each House represents. There are many different house systems and this post is based on specifically using the Placidus House system. It is believed that houses with any planet within it is of significance so the specific planet will have a particular influence on whatever the House it is in represents. As part of my blog series of using astrology to understand myself better, I will go over each astrological body’s house placement based on my natal/birth chart.

According to my Cafe Astrology birth/natal report, where you can also go to run your own report, Saturn is in my 7th House, which is related to the Libra sign and called the House of Balance. It is the area of one-to-one relationships such as marriage and partnership, and of social and intellectual action as well as how you balance self in relation to others.

With Saturn being in my 7th House, the report describes this placement as the following:
She takes one-to-one relationships very seriously, perhaps partnering up later in life or choosing not to. Partnership may not be fruitful or may be felt to be a burden if Saturn is afflicted. A strong sense of responsibility towards partner. Partner may be serious, mature, or restrictive. Her feelings are sincere and stable. She is persevering, methodical, and persistent which boosts professional success.

I’ve had many differing viewpoints about romantic relationships that have shifted from when I was young to growing and maturing over the years including taking one-to-one relationships somewhat seriously to preferring dating more than one person at the same time. At this point of my life, my mindset is focused on being very serious with my partner. The last half of the sentence says I may partner up later in life or choose not to. If this is referring to my current relationship then I would say that I am in the later half of my life since almost everyone else I know that is my age is already partnered up and married or has been and already divorced. Obviously I cannot predict the future and if my relationship status will proceed or change.

Next it says if Saturn is afflicted, which refers to some sort of negative placement or relationship to another astrological aspect, the partnership may not be fruitful or be a burden. I tried to do research on how to tell if and when Saturn is afflicted. I could not come to a conclusive determination for my chart since there seems to be conflicting information and I’m not clear when Saturn is considered afflicted. There is one source that says it is afflicted when located in the 4th, 5th or 8th house. However, in a post related to Vedic astrology, there was mention of Saturn being debilitated in the 7th house. I am aware that was in reference to Vedic astrology, whereas my birth chart and all my Astrological posts are based on Tropical astrology. Tropical and Vedic along with different house systems can result in very different classifications, such as a different house that my Saturn is located in. It may be in the 7th house according to Tropical astrology using the Placidus house system, but that can change under a different house system or if looking at Vedic astrology.

I do agree that in all of my past serious relationships, I have felt and acted according to a strong sense of responsibility towards my partners. It has only been when I have mentally or emotionally checked out of the relationship that it changes and I no longer have that viewpoint or continue actions that support it when it comes to my partner.

As for my feelings being sincere and stable, like I explained with the sense of responsibility, it is the case up until my feelings shift and I no longer feel the same for my partner, then obviously it is no longer sincere or stable. When it comes to that point, I end the relationship, and unfortunately for my partner it seems to come off as a shock to them because I hid and didn’t express my change of heart. That being said, I do wonder if I really am so perfectly able to hold in my feelings that my partner cannot detect the shift or if they don’t know me well or take enough notice to see the shift, even if subtle, in me. I do think I have in some ways pulled away or made some comments even if in a very slight way that may have eluded to my shifting emotions.

Over half of my Astrology posts refer to my career, from the characteristics that lend to my work ethic, to my professional success, and this one details that it is my perseverance, methodical approach and persistence that boosts my success. My South Node Sign specifically indicated that persistence is one of my preferences when it comes to work.

As indicated in my What Does Mars Really Have to do with Men? post, I will also go over another person’s chart, referred to as Kali, who is born on the same month and day as I was, but different year and location to offer a comparison of how two people with the same birth day, can be vastly different despite both being Scorpios. According to Kali’s natal/birth chart from Café Astrology her Saturn is located in her 9th House.

The 9th House is related to the Sagittarius sign and called the House of Purpose. It is the area of learning that shapes your identity and references the 3rd house to govern how you use your communication skills to expand your perspective and theories. Also known for how you expand your spiritual horizons and through higher education.

This is the description Kali’s report provides:
She is studious, patient, rigorous, austere. She likes reflection, meditation. She carries out all the plans she makes. She can be a stay-at-home.
