Per my All My Houses blog post, I generically describe the House System in astrology going into what each House represents. There are many different house systems and this post is based on specifically using the Placidus House system. It is believed that houses with any planet within it is of significance so the specific planet will have a particular influence on whatever the House it is in represents. As part of my blog series of using astrology to understand myself better, I will go over each astrological body’s house placement based on my natal/birth chart.
According to my Cafe Astrology birth/natal report, where you can also go to run your own report, Uranus is in my 9th House which is related to the Sagittarius sign and called the House of Purpose. It is the area of learning that shapes your identity and references the 3rd house to govern how you use your communication skills to expand your perspective and theories. Also known for how you expand your spiritual horizons and through higher education.
With Uranus being in my 9th House, the report describes this placement as the following:
Interested in humanity. She is highly intellectual. She travels a lot. Her mind is always alert, even when sleeping, during which time she often resolves the problems of the previous day!
The first sentence about being interested in humanity is such a vague statement. I think every single human being that has ever lived has some sort of interest in humanity given that we are all a part of it. If there was one thing I could get an answer on, or full understanding, with regards to humanity, it would be what drives any given person to execute extraordinarily horrible, what I consider pure evil, things to another living being, especially those who are in no position to defend themselves and are helpless to those who victimize them. It is something that I wonder almost every time I hear the news, which is why I avoid listening to news. I have enough negative things going through my head, I don’t need to ingest even more negative information.
The next sentence about being intellectual was already indicated in my Mercury Sign post due to a conjunction with Midheaven. I do prefer analyzing and thinking about things much more than I do feeling them and dealing with the emotional aspect of them.
I’ve talked about travelling a lot in other Astrology posts, since there are other astrological aspects on my chart that apparently contribute to my tendency to travel. From the very start of my blog, my first post was travel related and there have been regular posts about travel since then. My parents were the ones to first give me the experience of travelling, since we went on long summer family road trips. As a teenager, I detested being stuck in a car with my family, but looking back on it as an adult, I can say that I really am grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to visit almost every single state in the U.S. before I even hit age 18 and became an adult. It was when I realized what a unique experience I had and appreciated what may be gained by going out to different places that I began to seek it as often as I could.
Lastly, it says that my mind is always alert even when sleeping and this is something that I wish was not the case. I know one of the biggest reasons why I struggle with getting decent sleep is because I lay in bed thinking so much that it is to the point that I find it difficult to fall asleep. Then when I wake up in the middle of the night, which I do at least a couple times on average, my mind continues the random thoughts and it once again becomes hard for me to return to sleep. The times where I am able to sleep deeply long enough to dream, it is not uncommon for me to have stressful dreams that cause me to wake up in a panic, scared, angry, or stressed out. On several occasions I’ve had multiple dreams that leave me exhausted when I awake because it literally felt like my mind was running a million miles a minute all night long and was not a restful sleep at all. What I find really annoying is that many times, I don’t even remember what the dream or all the different dreams were about. I can say that there have been many times in my life, when I would try to recall an answer to something that I had forgotten during the day that will come to me randomly in the middle of night, during one of those times when I wake up and cannot easily go back to sleep!
As indicated in my What Does Mars Really Have to do with Men? post, I will also go over another person’s chart, referred to as Kali, who is born on the same month and day as I was, but different year and location to offer a comparison of how two people with the same birth day, can be vastly different despite both being Scorpios. According to Kali’s natal/birth chart from Café Astrology her Uranus is located in her 2nd House.
The 2nd House is related to the Taurus sign and called the House of Value. It is the area of material security and values. It rules money and personal finances, sense of self-worth & basic values, and personal possessions. It shapes what, who and why we value certain things.
This is the description Kali’s report provides:
She has a lot of flair. She can be unreliable, inconsistent, or erratic at work, always ready for change, although with some changes in routines and dedication, can do brilliant work. She may do best with an out-of-the-ordinary job, in which case all goes well: otherwise, she might often change jobs and or financial ups and downs.
