Minimalism: Photos

“the life-changing magic of tidying up” Chapter 3 photos summary:

If you have been sorting in the recommended order, chances are you’ve come across photos in random places.  Place them in a designated spot when you find them.  Once everything else has been sorted, then tackle photos.  There is only one way to sort photos.  Remove all photos from their albums and look at them one by one.  Photos exist to show a specific event or time and therefore should be looked at one by one.  You will be surprised how you can clearly tell the difference between those that touch your heart and those that don’t. Keep those that inspire joy.  Using this method, you will keep only about five per day.  Photos of scenery that you can’t place or remember belong in the garbage.

Some people keep photos in a box to go through when they are old, but chances are that will never happen as you never know when death will occur. Go through them now and put them in an album to enjoy when you are old.

    1. I have a luggage full of printed photos and that is after I already did a super quick initial pass at them…so yeah I think it is kinda weird, but I’m envious cuz this category won’t take you much time to complete.
