Shortage of Tequila?!

For the next 3-5 years?! I need to stock up! Quick! Tell me what your favorite smooth sipping tequila is so I can track it down!

Supposedly a shortage of tequila is looming because the plant agave tequilana is in short supply. What does that mean? Possibly $50 margaritas some claim! That seems outrageous to me, but what do I know?  All I know is I love a good smooth Tequila I can sip throughout the night with friends while playing board games or sitting by the fire.

It’s touted that tequila is the healthier choice compared to other liquors, especially Blanco or Silver since they are cleanest, helping avoid hangovers. Darker tequilas are typically aged in barrels that were previously used for other alcohols therefore aren’t as pure. From experience I can say Cuervo guarantees me a hangover, which I discovered is likely because it contains a lot of corn syrup. When I drink more pure tequilas, I don’t seem to have that issue. I do find myself drinking more water when I’m sipping tequila and I’m sure staying hydrated has a lot to do with that as well.

Below is brand I tried recently per recommendation from a random guy in the liquor store who saw me struggling trying to decide what to buy.  Finished this bottle in one night with help from a few others and would recommend it. Herradura has been my typical go to in the past few years. So tell me, what would you recommend?   Any tequila aficionados amongst my readers?
