Sketchbook Project – Tacos

While I don’t consider myself an artist, I wanted to force myself to be creative, so I decided to participate in the Brooklyn Art Library’s Sketchbook Project. Basically, you order a sketchbook, which is mailed to you and you have a certain amount of time to fill the pages as you wish based on a theme you choose from the list provided. Before the deadline, the sketchbook must be completed and mailed back and it will become part of the Brooklyn Art Library’s permanent collection of over 40,000 sketchbooks. The collection travels to exhibitions across the country and becomes part of a massive worldwide (because anyone from around the world can participate) community of creative people. It’s a really cool concept and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

I, of course, let life get in my way and have been procrastinating on working on my book. The deadline is 4/30 and I basically have just over a week to fill my pages. I’ve decided to go with tacos and below are a couple snippets of what I have so far, but I’ve got more blank pages than ideas. So I’m reaching out to my readers for inspiration, suggestions and ideas. Tacos anyone??
