On my previous Shortage of Tequila?! post there is supposed to be an impending tequila shortage. I came across a list online of recommended tequilas and decided I would go buy myself several bottles to last me the next several years that this shortage is claimed to last. Check out my stash!

There are two bottles pictured that were not on the recommended list. The first is the Herradura Ultra Anejo, which I wanted to try since Herradura Silver is my go-to tequila. The second to the far right in the box, is Frida Kahlo’s Reposado, which is actually made by her family. This ended up in my cart because they were doing tastings of it at the store and I was impressed with the quality, plus it came with a cigar and deck of cards and was on sale. This one I am saving because it is a good bottle of tequila!
I haven’t opened all the bottles yet, but what I can tell you about the ones I’ve tried so far is none of them impressed me:
- Tequila Fortaleza Blanco was okay, but not as good as Herradura Silver or Solorzano Blanco (referenced in my Shortage of Tequila?! post)
- 123 Organic Tequila #2 had an awful burn. I’m reserving the rest of it to use with mixers because it is not good on it’s own
- Herradura Ultra Anejo is not as smooth is their Silver so wouldn’t buy it again
When I get a chance to open a few more bottles to taste I’ll definitely do another post to let you know what I think. If there are other brands you suggest, please do let me know as I’m always open to trying good tequila.
