CES 2019: It’s Like a Keurig for Traditional Chinese Medicine

Lify created an all-in-1 preventative health-care platform that consists of a mobile app which asks you several questions to determine your current state in order to recommend which exact tea disc to insert into their Smart Herbal Brewer machine, which brews a cup in only 1 minute.

I have literally spent thousands of dollars on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) wellness programs over the years that consisted of both acupuncture and TCM herbal teas. Now there is an app to figure out what herbs you need and a machine that brews it in a minute. I was able to try one of their brews which had turmeric along with other energy boosting herbs in it. This particular blend was suggested by the app after I answered several questions including indicating my skin was dry, my throat was sore, felt exhausted, and was eating out. The tea smelled mildly herbal and had a pleasant taste, unlike some of the past TCM herbal teas I brewed in the past, some of which were truly horrible. Since it smelled and tasted light, I do wonder if it is as effective as the herbal brews my acupuncturist sent me home with, which is not something I can really determine after only one cup.

I spoke at length with one of the women at the booth commending her on this brilliant idea because it seems it will make wellness that much easier for people to attain. Since they are currently looking to first bring this into the retail and corporate space first, I replied I could see this becoming popular in spas and other similar places. However, I advised they really should consider bringing this to the consumer market as well since I know there are a lot of people, not only Asians who practice TCM, especially in California.  I’ll be keeping an eye on this company and am curious to see how successful their innovative wellness product will be.  What do you think of this wellness item, would you consider it for yourself?
