I have been wanting to purchase a compact UV toothbrush sterilizer for quite some time since I travel constantly. I specifically was looking for something that did not take up a lot of room since I have only one pocket that is long and narrow in my toiletry bag that would fit a toothbrush. At CES in the Sands Expo, I came across Uvnia’s booth where they showed me a 2″ x 2″ rounded square shaped flip-top case with a clear cover that fits over a toothbrush head that is 100% ozone and mercury free. At only ~.75 ounces, this is super light as well. It fits both my standard manual toothbrush and sonicare brush head. The cost is $29, but lucky for me they had a discount code for those attending CES that I was able to use the week following CES when they officially launched the product. The color options are white, blue and pink and I purchased the white one.
Once the cover is snapped closed, LG’s Innotek blue UV-C LED light comes on for a steady 3 minutes, sterilizing 99.9% of up to 10 million germs and bacteria that could be found on a toothbrush, according to a study conducted by the University of Manchester in 2012.
The unit is charged via a mini USB cable, which flashes red while charging and glows solid green once fully charged, disinfecting 50-55 times on a full charge. This is perfect for me since my trips are typically 2-3 weeks long and will last me a trip without requiring me to charge it. The LED claims to have a life expectancy of up to 5 years (~20K hours). Check in with me in about 4 years to see if mine is still working!
There is a magnet on the back of the sterilizer that comes in handy to stick against a bathroom mirror frame instead of setting the toothbrush on the sink counter. I only wish more hotel bathrooms had fixtures that worked with the magnet.
After using this for several months on my travels, I can confidently say I am very pleased with this product in regards to the compact size, longevity between charges and the thoughtfulness of adding a magnet on the back for enhanced usability. I can’t really speak to how effective the LED is at destroying 99.9% of germs since I don’t own a microscope to test it, but hope it actually is as effective as it claims!

Kool gadget. I would have gone with the pink though lol 😜

Are you just saying that because you know I have an aversion to pink?
