CES 2020 Ggadget: Tree of Life

In the far back corner of the Sands Expo 2nd Floor, I walked by a booth that literally stopped me in my tracks when I saw a beautiful bedside lamp in the shape of bonsai tree. Upon first glance, I was immediately enamored with all the various textures and colors that I typically find aesthetically pleasing in one piece that brought an immediate zen feeling. It had a cherry or bamboo (depending on the model) wood bark shade with a solid white and black top cover and a shiny metallic silver tree trunk attached to a matte black tray base.

Now you may be thinking, sure that sounds nice, but what’s so special about this lamp that it qualifies to be showcased in CES? Since the top of the lampshade was white with an oblong black center, I thought it was a wireless charging pad, but I was wrong.

Room for my car keys (or any other small item of your choice) on the right side of the tree trunk.

The lamp actually does have wireless charging capabilities, but that is located in the black tray section marked with circle symbol. The tray also has room for small items like keys and glasses when a phone is charging.

I put my battery pack, which is slightly bigger than my SGS8 on the charging section since I used my cell phone to take the picture.

Upon closer inspection and guidance from the person at the booth, I learned the black top actually houses a physical > play/pause/pairing button and touch sensitive + and – volume controls of the Bluetooth speaker, which surprisingly has a good range of volume and better than expected clear sound quality!

The blue + and – are soft keys that light up when you touch the panel.

The light brightness is adjustable by a touch sensitive graduating strip of circles up to 200 lumens on the edge of the charging section. As if that was not enough, there is actually a Good Night mode for the light. Long pressing the light strip for 5 seconds dims the light and keeps it on for 30 minutes before automatically shutting off.

This instantly drew me in by the beautiful design with the technology features only solidifying my desire to own this product, so I bought it and am absolutely loving my purchase! To buy one, check Amazon which currently has different sellers offering this lamp between $129-$149.

Now this was NOT the only lighting that caught my eye at CES this year, there was a bird lamp in the same booth that I wanted to buy but haven’t yet (I do hope to purchase it sometime in the future). In another booth, I came across a desk lamp that I almost walked by but actually took two steps backwards when I realized it had several enticing features that went beyond my own current desk lamp, which I thought had practical features. Designnet’s booth had a few cool lighting items as well as other things that I wanted to buy.  Check my blog soon as I do plan on doing posts on these in the near future.
