CES 2020 Ggadget: Portable Printer for any Surface

PrintPen by Evebot has a handheld portable tool that claims it can print on any surface and any material.

Using the PrintPen Android/iOS app and WiFi enabled pen, images can be uploaded, selected from the gallery or customized. Then click print and quickly glide over the chosen surface to print in seconds. It is super simple and quick! The lightweight (250 g/8.8 oz) device is rechargeable with ~2000 standard print battery life. The ink cartridge has a 300 dpi resolution and ~3500 times standard print capacity. The ink smeared when I rubbed my arm with water and easily came off when I used soap.  I tried reaching out to the company to find out if prints on clothing or ceramic (such as a mug) washes off  when cleaning the item, but have not received a reply back.  If I receive a response later, I will update this post with their answer.

Since I had recently tried a temporary tattoo device at another booth, I wanted to see how this compared since I saw many people also printing on their arm. Check my quick 6 second YouTube video demo at CES printing on my arm.

Their campaign through Kickstarter has ended and now can be pre-ordered for $249 (retail states $259). I also asked what color ink is available and how much the ink cartridge costs, but am still awaiting a reply to my inquiry.

I like the idea of this if the ink is permanent on other surfaces such as fabric, glass and ceramic.  If not then, that would deter me from seriously considering purchasing this item.  Would you find this useful?  What would you use it for?
