Ended the day with an amazing homemade yuzu salmon dinner and writing time to start a brand new short story.
1/5: Grateful for the opportunity to attend CES in person this year during my extended work shutdown. It was reassuring to know all attendees were cleared for full vaccination and see everything honoring the mask mandate. While it didn’t feel the same with a lot less exhibitors and attendees, it was still very enjoyable to see new tech trends, gadgets and get some swag. After a full day of walking, though only half the mileage of what I usually track at this event (12,500 steps vs. 25,000), it was very convenient to eat spaghetti that my apt complex gave for free.
1/4: Starting my morning off with a chiropractor appointment to get adjusted felt so good! Glad I’m still on extended shutdown, since I was able to take a mid-day nap, which was much needed since I did not sleep well or enough the night before. Also had time to write, delete some emails, and clean my bathroom. Unfortunately found out that a close family friend, who basically was an uncle to me passed away. Hopeful that my simple note of condolence to his daughter provided a little solace. Thankful for the easy CES badge pickup at the international airport terminal and receiving a self test COVID kit, something that has been impossible to find at local pharmacies. Made it to bed early before 10pm and got a good night’s sleep.
1/3: I appreciate my company doing an extended shutdown this holiday season since the week between Christmas and New Year’s went by so quickly and these 3 extra days off are allowing me time to write, catch up on some things around the house, as well as have fun! The Lost Spirits Distillery far exceeded my expectations and was quite the experience. Then having Nori Ramen at Sora after drinking so much hard liquor was the perfect ending to the evening.
